Radar Guidance Technology and the Solution of Social Problems in China

Radar Guidance Technology of Guiding Missile to Target by
Radar Guidance Radar guidance can be divided into two categories which are radar
beam guidance and radar homing guidance.

Radar beam guidance Radar beam
guidance system consists of airborne radar, missile receiving device and
autopilot. The conical scanning radar on board transmits radio beams to the
target and tracks the target. After launching, the missile enters the radar
beam. The tail antenna of the missile receives the conical scanning radio
frequency signal of the radar beam, determines the direction of the missile
deviating from the rotating axis of the beam (contour) on the missile, forms
the control signals of pitch and course, and controls the missile to fly along
the contour line through the autopilot. The contour line points to the target,
so the missile flies to the target.

Radar homing guidance Also known as radar automatic guidance,
it can be divided into active radar guidance, semi-active radar guidance and
passive radar guidance. Active radar guidance system is composed of active
radar seeker (homing head), computer and autopilot. The whole system is mounted
on the missile. The active radar seeker emits the electromagnetic wave of the
target and receives the echo reflected from the target. Radar guidance includes
active and semi-active modes.

Active radar guidance is a guidance method for missiles
using radar signals as the source of homing signals. It is also a mainstream
project in the development of radar guided missiles. Active radar guidance is a
radar that transmits signals by the missile itself. It does not need the
assistance of other vehicles, and uses the radar signal reflected from the
target as the guidance basis. Although air-to-air missiles gradually entered
this field in the 1990s, anti-ship missiles have long been guided by active
radar as the mainstream. Active radar guidance has the greatest advantage of
getting rid of the disadvantage that semi-active radar guidance must provide
signals for launching vehicles, increasing the number of targets that can be
attacked at the same time, or launching vehicles can launch evasive actions.

PL-12 is the most advanced radar-type air-to-air missile
equipped by Chinese aviation forces at present. Its comprehensive technical
performance has reached the advanced standards of similar missiles abroad.
However, compared with AIM-120C and Mika, there is still room for improvement
and improvement in its basic technology. The main problem of PL-12 is that its
size is relatively large, and its volume, weight and mounting adaptability are
not as good as AIM-120C and Mika.

To be honest, it may have nothing to do with the social
problems and the development of missile radar. The development of military
industry has little effect on the progress of social science. However, since I
have started such a topic, it is reasonable for me. But I want to put it first,
and in the end, this inextricable relationship, the first thing I want to talk
about is the development of China in the field of missiles and radar.

What is the current international environment like? The
U.S. wants to force the real economy manufacturing industry transferred from
the mainland to relocate to the U.S. through trade barriers to fight a trade
war. Globalization has entered a difficult period that has never been
encountered before; Europe is deeply involved in its own debt refugee problem;
Japan’s Abe Economics has not made much progress in these years; Economic
growth slowed down. In particular, the continuing conflict in the Middle East
has added several factors of instability. It can be seen that the current
international situation is extremely complex and chaotic, and no one can really
see clearly and thoroughly, pointing out how everything will develop next.
Military affairs are the bottom card for the state to protect itself
independently in such troubled times. The interests of the state depend on it.
I appreciate Professor Chen Ping’s analysis of Fudan University. He once said,
“Because China has built an independent industrial system, a scientific
and technological system and a national defense system in the first 30 years,
China’s financial policy is more independent than that of Germany and
Japan.” China’s independence is based on military independence. And this is
the foundation of social stability in China, which is the real social problem
it solves.
