Many years ago on a cold and snowy New Year‘s Eve, a poor little girl was wandering arround on the street.

She tried to sell her matches.
她想把火柴賣出去。
So she could buy something to eat.

She was very cold and sad.

She sat in a doorway with ragged old clothes.

Her bare feet were nearly frozen.

Many people were crying.

They were sad to see that the little match girl had died.
看到賣火柴的小女孩死了，他們很難過。
But if they had looked a little more carefully, they would have seen a warm smile on her face.

The little match girl had gone to spend her New Year‘s Day in a much better place with her grand mom.
