How to Live an XS life on a 5c Budget

We’ve got some tips for you on how to live that XS life — there is nothing the Pei team does better than bootstrappin’ some good deals! Here are some of our favorite hacks for affording the hottest tech.

Two words: You’re. Welcome. SlickDeals has, well, some pretty slick deals. Our office got our 52" TV on a very tight budget. Deals come and go quickly, so you have to stay on top of it, but they have a mobile app, category searches, and

Partially out of self interest, Pei also offers a couple of great spots to get your tech for cheaper. With GameStop and Target now offering phones, tablets, tvs, and a number of other electronics, it’s a great spot to grab all your tech needs. When you’re going for the bigger purchases like TVs and tablets, your 1% can go pretty far.

I mean, it doesn’t get much better than Amazon for anything, am I right? Always on the forefront of spending the least amount of money possible, Amazon’s Deals of the Day are hit or miss somethings, but when you get a hit it can be a pretty sweet one. They’ve got FireSticks for $30, AKASO V50 Pro Natives (it’s like a GoPro?) for $100- you name it! It’s like a thrift store only without the weird smelling clothes and being around people.

What is it with all these Tom’s? First there was MySpace Tom, now there is Pei CEO Tom, and now we have Tom’s Guide. Tom’s Guide is a sweet little corner of the interwebs that gets you tech gadgets for under $20. They have every accessory you might need from cords, to speakers, even laptop bags and cases. Their biggest asset is their extensive product reviews from gaming, to phones, to web security. They know their stuff up and down, so if you’re not a tech gadget collector but know one, this is also a great spot to find gifts (Pro Tip: hit up their deals page for the extra good stuff).

5. Reselling your electronics

Lastly, what do you do when you’ve had your phone for five months and the newer, hotter model comes out? (Pst- it’s not a conspiracy- your phone does slow down when the new version comes out!) Or when your $1300 MacBook becomes obsolete and slow? (Anyone else’s laptops start to sound like they’re a plane about to take off right around the three year mark?!) There are some awesome sites out there for reselling your electronics like Swappa, which offers to buy and sell old electronics, or GameStop for trading and buying video games. Also, did you know Amazon also has a trade in option?! They typically turn it around in two business days, and you get an Amazon gift card in return. Best Buy has a similar options as well, but again, repays in gift cards and has a slower turn around time because well, not everyone can be Amazon.

All in all, you don’t have to be flush with cash to stay on top of your expensive 2019 version of a hobby- just use the tech to your advantage!
