Support for Node.js when you need it
As the popularity of Node.js grows, more companies are using the runtime for their business-critical applications. We know you and your customers need a formal support offering for Node.js, so we created two levels of commercial support for Node.js: the IBM Foundation Support for Runtimes and the IBM Advanced Support for Runtime Frameworks.
IBM Foundation Support for Runtimes
Foundation Support provides coverage for the open source Node.js runtime. Support is available for the two most recent Node.js long-term service (LTS) versions b Node.js V6 until April 2019 and Node.js V8 until the December 2019. The current LTS schedule can be found here
The Node.js runtime support is available regardless of which modules you are using within your application.
Support is available for wherever you want to deploy the runtime: whether that’s on your own machines or in the cloud, and whether that’s IBM Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Heroku
IBM Advanced Support for Runtime Frameworks
Advanced Support expands on Foundation Support, providing additional coverage for the Express.js and Loopback frameworks as well as the packages on which they rely.
Monitoring capabilities are covered via the appmetrics and appmetrics-dash packages.
These provide you with the majority of what you need in order to be able to create, deploy, monitor and scale production-grade web applications and mobile back ends using Node.js.
This is part of IBM’s commercial support for open source programming languages and their popular runtime frameworks, which currently covers Java, Node.js and Swift.
Note: A Node.js support offering for z/OS is already available.

- This offering provides support entitlement for Node.js, Java, and Swift.
- Included Node.js modules are express, express-session, body-parser, passport, cloudant, mongodb, redis, cfenv, bluemix-appid,bluemix-autoscaling-agent, log4js, strong-supervisor, loopback and connections built with LoopBack. As a polyglot offering this also includes the Kitura framework for Swift. Note: This list is expected to grow; contact us to discuss specific needs.
